Vocab Activities: 
  • Draw a picture of the word and write its definition in your own words
  • Write the vocab words on individual notecards, and their definitions on separate notecards.  Flip them over face down and play Memory.
  • Build a display of the word out of clay
  • Act the word out with a friend
  • Paint the word
  • Write the word in glue and cover it with popcorn, cotton balls, etc.
  • Write a story using the vocabulary word
  • Give examples of the word, and then examples of the antonym

It is very important that such activities were interesting and made the children think and express their own ideas via the speaking or writing or even painting.
