ONLINE LEARNING DAY SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 23RD

Dear Students and Parents,

CIPLC has scheduled a practice online learning day for this Friday, January 23rd.  Therefore, we will conduct all learning through Google Classroom on that day.

Students will be expected to complete all assignments by Monday, just as if they were regular homework assignments.

In order to assist with learning and any questions that may arise, both Miss Jezabel and Miss Hodges will be available for online Google chat from 8:00-10:00 Friday morning, and Miss Hodges will be available from 1:00-3:00 Friday afternoon.  I will also respond to emails from 7:30am to 4:00pm, and will try to do so within an hour of the email being sent.

Homework assignments for all Friday classes will be posted on Google Classroom and will include an assignment for each subject that the fourth grade would normally attend on a regular school day.  Therefore, students should expect to complete math, reading, writing, spelling, library, Spanish, and P.E. assignments.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OF HOW TO ACCESS GOOGLE CLASSROOM, ENVISIONS MATH ON PEARSON.NET, OR SPELLING CITY, THEN PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE TOMORROW EVENING (THURSDAY, JANUARY 22ND).  We have worked on Spelling City and on Google Classroom in class before, so these platforms should not be new.  We will also explore the Pearson Envisions website tomorrow, since some but not all fourth graders have experience on the site.

Please contact me with any questions you may have, and happy learning!

Cheers,

Miss Hodges

Red Light, Green Light

Dear Students and Parents,

Please check your email for a Google Form titled "Red Light, Green Light."  I am seeking your feedback for what you what you absolutely love and what you can live without concerning the fourth grade.  Let me know how you feel about classroom assignments, communication, homework,....whatever it may be!  Reflection helps us grow, so help me strengthen our fourth grade classroom!

Cheers,

Miss Hodges

Welcome Back!

Greetings, and Happy New Year!

I was glad to hear everyone's positive reports about winter break.  It's always a blessing to be able to relax, travel, and/or spend time with family.

Now that the break is over, we are back in full swing in fourth grade.  It's lovely to see everyone's smiling faces in the classroom again!

With the new year come a few changes.

First, we will begin to use Google Classroom more heavily so that we will all be prepared and familiar with the platform, should any online learning days occur.

Secondly, the students will begin writing daily journals.  Daily prompts for the entries will be found on Google Classroom, so be sure to check to see what the prompt is!
